Discipleship is the biblical process by which one is conformed into the image of the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ; and according to Christ, no earthly relationship, possession, or interest, can or should compete with discipleship. (Luke 14:25-33) Simply stated, discipleship must be the heartbeat and priority of every New Testament local church (Matthew 28:18-20) and every New Testament believer (Colossians 1:28).
We have 4 goals for each and every member of OHBC. These goals are accomplished over a period of time and serve to keep this church a healthy, functioning body. The 4 goals of discipleship are:
• To establish the believer in the worship of God.
• To establish the believer in the word of God.
• To establish the believer in the local church.
• To establish the believer in the work of the ministry.
We view discipleship as the central ministry of the church. Given this, we take a very systematic and formal approach to discipleship. Below are the three steps we have in place to begin the process of discipleship.
